How It Started
Honestly it wasn't some big planned thing. Tom's my mate and he's always been into photography, proper photography, not just phone pics. He'd go out shooting cars, post them on his Instagram, and the results were genuinely mad. Like properly good shots that made you stop scrolling. I'd see what he was doing and just wanted to get involved, learn the camera a bit, see what it was all about.
So one day I went out with him and I had this thought: why's this only on his Instagram? Tom's work deserves more than that. The whole world should be able to see this stuff, not just his followers. That's where the idea for T&DSHOTS came from. Get it on the internet properly, build something around it, make a site where people can actually go and see the work in full rather than just scrolling past it on a phone.
Tom's work deserves more than an Instagram grid. The whole world should be able to see this stuff.
Since then whenever either of us has the time we're working on it, adding to the site, going out shooting, trying new things. We do a lot when we get the chance. It's not a business in the traditional sense, there's no office, no agency behind it. It's just us two putting in the hours because we actually enjoy it and we want Tom's work out there where people can find it.
T&DSHOTS is based in Liverpool and that's where most of our work comes from. The streets, the car parks, the docks, wherever there's something worth shooting. Liverpool's got a brilliant car scene and honestly we've barely scratched the surface of it.
The Two of Us
I'm the one who built all of this. The website, the concept, the whole T&DSHOTS thing. Tom inspired me to get involved with photography and I wanted to do something with it beyond just posting on Instagram. So I started the project, built the site from scratch, and now any chance we get we're out shooting or I'm working on something new for the site. I'm not the photographer (that's Tom) but I'm the one making sure the world can actually see what he does. Liverpool born, won't shut up about it.
Tom is the talent behind every shot on this site. He's been into photography for years: cars, weddings, portraits, video work, the lot. Before T&DSHOTS he was just posting on Instagram and the results were already brilliant. Now those shots have a proper home. Tom handles all the camera work, the editing, and the creative direction of every set we put out. If it looks good, that's Tom. If the website works, that's me.
What We Actually Do
Cars are the main thing, that's what most people come here for and it's where we spend most of our time. But Tom doesn't just do cars. He does weddings, portraits, video shoots, all sorts. T&DSHOTS started with cars because that's what we were both buzzing about when we kicked it off, but the photography side of things is much broader than that.
The windscreen print thing is our signature move. We find a car we want to shoot, Tom photographs it properly, we print it on the spot and leave it on the windscreen for the owner to find. No charge, no ask. Just a proper photo of their car sitting there when they come back. Our details are on the back if they want more. It's a daft simple idea and it works brilliantly.
If you want something shot, car, event, wedding, whatever, get in touch. We're based in Liverpool but we'll travel. Tom's work speaks for itself, have a look at the gallery and the car sets and you'll see what we mean.
Street automotive photography across Liverpool and beyond. We find them, shoot them, and print on the spot.
Tom shoots weddings too. Same eye for a great shot, applied to the most important day of your life.
Portraits, events, video work. If you need something photographed properly, Tom can do it.
